Car Lifestyle Post 2 - My car(s)

Alex reporting in again for my second update.
This time I will be covering myself in more detail, well, in a car way. This post is about my cars! Yes, that is cars with an 's' because I have two of them!

I'll start with my first car, a 1987 Holden VL Commodore purchased in early 2012 when I was 16. It was a Berlina (semi-luxury spec), factory 5 speed manual (rare!), white over grey with a blue interior - In completely standard original condition. I purchased the car off a middle aged man who had owned it since 1991 - that's right. Over 20 years!

This is how the car looked when I first bought it. Yeah, very grandpa looking:

During my time with the car, I have done a lot of work on it including but not limited to: Extractors, a cat-back exhaust, pinstripes, HSV wheels, an aftermarket Nardi steering wheel, as well as a bunch of suspension modifications that I will go into detail with in my next post!

Here's a quick sound clip my friend took of the exhaust once, forgive the way the car looks - I was in the middle of painting some parts!

The car now looks like this. Quite an improvement if I do say so myself, but I'm biased:

My second car may seem familiar... I purchased it a few months ago (2014) from Queensland. It's a 1997 Subaru Impreza WRX Club Spec Evo 2. A tribute to my Dad's old wagon(s) as these got me into cars in the first place!

This car had a 3" Turbo back exhaust (loud!), Short shifter, aftermarket stereo as well as a few other small things, but overall fairly original. Sincemy purchase I have fitted a GFB Bleed Valve, boost gauge (which I later took out due to not being able to decide where to mount it!) and more recently a braided HEL clutch line. My future plans are some nice wheels, some coilovers and to clean up the body a bit so it's nice and immaculate.

This is my goal!!!

Next post I'll be talking about how I overhauled the suspension in my VL commodore!
